“And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart”. Ezekiel 36:26
Reading this verse makes me realize the heart that I own, is always stubborn, jealous, stony, unkind, non-sensitive, wicked, immoral and selfish. No matter how hard I try or work out, my heart remains the same. Unless, the above verse becomes a part of my life’s testimony.
Sin is not something that we deliberately want to do and end up doing it. It is part and parcel of our fleshly nature, a bonus to the fallen man for His disobedience.
He, knowing that you could never attain Holiness by yourself, takes steps to transform you just like Him. Why do you think God wants to give us a new heart? Because, He wants to dwell there forever. That’s where He wants to reside eternally. Only a heart owned by God can be kind, generous, loving unconditionally, accepting the broken ones, tender and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Only a heart made new by Him daily, can possess the true treasures of Heaven and be a good steward to it. Even after ages of knowing Christ, we tend to hold back our hearts from Him. But, my friend its worth the surrender, its worth giving up all and embrace His transformation process.
“Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life”- Proverbs 4:23. Only if your heart is guarded, your hands will do, legs will walk, eyes will see, ears will hear, inner soul will sing according to what pleases Him.
“Lover of my soul, take my inner most beats,
And search it through and through;
Till it become, songs of praise to You alone”.
Nobody is more worthy to have his or her home in your heart, apart from the one who gave His Life for you.
