Have you seen a car wash process? The owner leaves his/her car with the service boys in the car wash machinery area. Water is first sprayed from the two sides very slowly. After this there is heavy force of something whitish (water mixed with soap) on the car. You can see the dust accumulated on the car falling down along with the water. Slowly the car is moved forward through these big brushes (center, left and right) that wipes the car thoroughly. But, in this mean time there is one point where you can’t see the car at all (for a short while). Then, it comes out slowly shinning bright and neat.
There are times in our lives we need a thorough wash. Leave yourself to the Holy Spirit, allowing him to pour out His water of love and cleanse you. Wait on God when the dirtiness of the past flows away through the drainage. But, the amazing part of this whole process is when you won’t see the car! People around you might figure out you are going through a cleansing process. At times there is gap of your absence. You won’t be seen or available to many things that you were available to. God would want you to withdraw from certainties that were a part of you always (works, entertainment, being all around the place, etc.)
But notice it’s only for a short while, before you come out as bright, clean and whole. When God is cleansing you, He shuts the door of the outsiders and gets you closer to Him alone. Two verses that needs to be a testimony of our lives on a timely basis are:
“Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow” Psalm 51:7 and,
“Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool“. Isaiah 1:18
