“So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her.” GENESIS 29: 20
The love that Jacob had for Rachel was so intense that his labor of seven years, for her, passed by like few days.
Before, when my son fell sick, I landed up thinking, ‘goodness this is going to take seven days of medication’ and those days to me, seemed like years. That struggle with him, and the anxiety within me, overtook the trust or assurance I have in Jesus. I admit; I let them surpass the belief of the wonderful love and protection of Jesus.
Many of us fail to see that our struggles are so trivial compared to the greatness of a Father, who loves us and does so much for us. We tend to forget the times that He has been good; His goodness now and His assurance to turn everything for our good. We cannot come to terms with the truth that, when we share our sufferings, struggles, challenges and delays with Him, we are also given a beautiful leisure to share in His Glory; which overwhelms the glory and wealth of this world.
Today, let us ‘will’ to allow His love embosom our hearts in a new way. When life hits hard, and when worry seems to engulf the joy, let us be willing to count all of the best God has done for us. In the light of HIS miraculous love, let the pain, ache, delays, financial-lack, and waiting, dim out. Because, forever; we will not have to keep waiting, aching and losing out. His love will unfold the finest for us, if we are willing to see the constricted pathways, and trials as small and short as it actually is, in the light of His Glory and Grace.
Our strength comes from the Joy of the Lord. This joy increases only with a child-like love and faith towards a Father who gave, gives and will give His all for us. Let our love for Him reject love and admiration for anything else.
