The Constant Blessing in Seasons

“He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.” Psalms 1:3

We, believers in Christ, are like a tree.

For a tree to flourish, the seasons HAVE to keep changing. These changing seasons, help the tree to not miss out, yielding its fruit in the specific season. I have hardly seen people who do not love mangoes, but we do not get mangoes throughout the year. Why? Because, it has a season.

So when a challenging season of your life is taking its high pedestal, how can you prosper in the midst of it? “…: delight is in the law of the LORD, And on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.” PSALMS 1:2

When you are delighting in Christ; your supply is by the stream, that never runs dry. This supply helps you to be stable, steady and moreover hopeful.

Hopeful, that each of your challenges, your fruitlessness and your wearing out moments, has an expiry date.

It is easy, so easy to say God DOES wonders when things go well; but it is beyond our logical agreement to trust Him in the seasons that are so temporary, yet very painful. Wisdom tells such a person, that this painful season will have a death-day. So sow, weep, pray, seclude, be set apart, give thanks and honor Him.

Precious Ones, it doesn’t matter to which church you go. It doesn’t matter how involved you are in the ministry. It doesn’t matter if your pastor is Eli, Samuel or Jesus; are you child, delighting in the promises of His Word? For His promises, and Him, is the only permanence. If we are to experience constant blessings, in changing seasons, it’s only by dwelling in the Word of God, Day and Night.

John Piper says, “Satan devotes 168 hours a week to deceive you. Do you think you can maintain a renewed mind with a ten-minute glance at God’s book once a day?”
