“Instead of bronze I will bring gold, And instead of iron I will bring silver, And instead of wood, bronze, And instead of stones, iron. And [instead of the tyranny of the present] I will appoint peace as your officers, And righteousness your rulers.” ISAIAH 60:17

As I was reading this I realized that the “instead” word is repeated; and it is to emphasis that God will do something better than what is expected or deserving.

We may deserve something dull as a bronze; but God says He will open up the Golden opportunities for us to do what pleases Him.

We may deserve something as hard and unpardonable as the iron; but He chooses to be gracious.

We may deserve to be burnt up in the fire like wood; but He chooses to not let it melt us or destroy us.

For all the toil it would be just countable stones or fading away benefits; but God chooses to establish our resources and health.

We may deserve the taunts of traumas and the rottenness of our past; but God chooses to rule it over and wipe it away with His unfathomable, inexhaustible peace.

We may deserve doom, and misunderstandings; but He chooses to cover us before and after with His righteousness.

Whatever the Lord spoke, it will not fail (Luke 1:37). The power released through His word, causes us to be recipients of all His “instead” blessings.

Be encouraged! This day unfolded for you, so that you will always experience contrary of the negativity. His grace abounds; so humbly confess your sins. Receive His forgiveness in a measure that you are empowered to not repeat anything that grieves His heart.
