Hope of all hopes, dream of our dreams,
a child is born, sweet-breathed; a son is given to us: a living gift.
And even now, with tiny features and dewy hair, He is great.
The power of leadership, and the weight of authority, will rest on His shoulders.
His name? His name we’ll know in many ways—
He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Dear Father everlasting, ever-present never-failing,
Master of Wholeness, Prince of Peace – Isaiah 9:6 The Voice (VOICE)
For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” – Hebrews 12:2
When God was born as a man; there was great joy in Heaven.
But what was this JOY?
When Jesus cried his first cry, out of the womb of Mary; God’s heart pounded. “Born to Die” was what God remembered every time he saw Jesus walk and talk his days and months as a human. Yet not for once did the Father say, enough is enough. Until the cross He waited. So that, the JOY of Christmas will have a long-lasting fulfillment.
Honestly, none of us are sure if Jesus was born on 25th of December. But we choose that very day to celebrate His birth. So today as we prepare for this beautiful day, let us know, the joy of Christmas is Jesus. And, the greater Joy is, He died and rose again, so that we could know the Father’s heart for us.
The mighty counsellor, prince of peace and a loving Father was born to give His life for us because, with everything that He is, He found each of us as His perfect JOY. This season is all about remembering a God who left His splendour behind to bring you and me back to “His glorious” garden.
Let redemption echo loudly into our hearts and forgiveness wrap our core; so that we live a life worthy of His birth, death and resurrection.
