Everything that has been fathered by God overcomes the corrupt world. This is the victory that has conquered the world: our faith – 1 John 5:4
Victory illuminates our lives like the shinning sun when our faith has been exercised not to succumb to the enticements of this world. There are so many things that the world and Christians think is okay to embrace and welcome. It takes faith to stand solid to the grace that Jesus extends.
This doesn’t mean we become religious and pious, following rules and regulations. That would never be the way to lead a victorious life. When the Bible says, “don’t murder”, it is clearly indicating you can’t go to bed having resentment towards someone. Get it cleared at the feet of Grace. “Love your enemies”, means, don’t let yourself be excused to feel okay that you would need to rehearse your hurt with another friend in different forms.
Faith overcomes the trash of this life not by compromising, but by being in the center of His Will.
Pity-parties will tell you it’s fine to have drink, or watch porn, or get angry and use profanity. But those responses will never exercise the God-lavished victory. To everything that your flesh FEELS satisfied, your faith in Christ will say NO. Choose Him, and His victory accomplished on the cross will never let you turn back to this world.
