“What if I speak in the most elegant languages of people or in the exotic languages of the heavenly messengers, but I live without love? Well then, anything I say is like the clanging of brass or a crashing cymbal. What if I have the gift of prophecy, am blessed with knowledge and insight to all the mysteries, or what if my faith is strong enough to scoop a mountain from its bedrock, yet I live without love? If so, I am nothing.” – 1 Corinthians 13:1-2
There is a love that’s flowing from the throne room of grace into our hearts; it’s straight from the heart of God. Let’s humble ourselves into this new day to receive this unfailing love. No other form of love can fill the void in our hearts like His love.
We need to lay our expectations from our close ones at the cross where His love was poured out without measure. When we direct our expectancies towards Him and His purposes, we have the endurance to wait on Him to make it beautiful for us.
You can never claim to have love for somebody unless you have loved them through their weaknesses and shortcomings. That’s the kind of love that the Father wants us to have for each other. No amount of applause or excellence or skill or talents have any significance if we are not walking in love. No degrees; no life in a three bedroom apartment; no certificates of theology makes any sense if you have given your life to Christ but are too choosy in loving people. Anytime we find ourselves having the wrong mindset towards our siblings in Christ; spouses, colleagues, and god-ordained authority, we need to seek the Holy Spirit to help us rekindle the Love of Jesus in us.
We cannot afford to take another step without loving the people God has set before us. It takes reverence and the fear of God to do what pleases His heart utmost.
