“But no matter what comes, we will always taste victory through Him who loved us. For I have every confidence that nothing—not death, life, heavenly messengers, dark spirits, the present, the future, spiritual powers, height, depth, nor any created thing—can come between us and the love of God revealed in the Anointed, Jesus our Lord” – Romans 8:37-39
When everything in me gets cast down;
I am given a moment of choice to hold on
A choice to look up and choose His rest;
As the Spirit whispers gently, “It’s your best”
Heaven cheers me louder than ‘letting go’,
Even when the whole lot wants to settle low.
“Child, choose this life which is all for you,
And you are more than the stumps in que”
He talks into my ears to see me triumph;
Which in that moment is more than enough.
But, I fail to choose those leadings of love;
I lashed and withdrew my hands from above.
I stumbled, I fell, I lost it another time,
The conqueror I professed gave into every dime.
Tears of grief rolled down in regret and shame;
“Will He talk again”, in doubt I took the blame.
I wished I could hide and run away from myself;
Aid to haste threw me to, ‘do it yourself’
In that moment, He knelt closer than before,
His tender voice echoed, “I AM YOUR FATHER”
“You will overcome, becasue I overcame;
A new beginning, I’ll fan into flame.
I chose you then, I choose you now and always;
Victory of grace has forever marked your days.”
New beginnings are another chances for us to yield, trust and hope in the perfect will of God. He is slow to anger and abounding in love, patience, gentleness and kindness toward each of us. Don’t stay where you are when you fall or are weak; rise up! Shine! It’s Him in you, who matters utmost.
