In the midst of wonderful people, sometimes we can hear a cry of agony within ourselves. We probably don’t have to listen closely to recognize it. “The cry of loneliness”. Few days back, a friend of mine shared this experience with me and I felt relieved that I wasn’t the only one feeling the same. Sometimes, it’s God orchestrated. Just so that we lean onto nothing and no one, but Him. If ever the thirst in us gets quenched with the outside goodies, then how can we discover what He has in store for us about Himself? God allows us to come to a place where absolutely nothing matters to soothe the cry of thirst in our hearts.
“O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You. My soul thirsts for You. My flesh longs for You in a dry and weary land, where there is no water.” – Psalms 63:2
When void swipes in like a whirlwind, it’s time to turn a new chapter of seeking after a new dimension of Our Father in Heaven. He is the only perfect fill to the dryness and emptiness we experience. All of a sudden, these feelings may not evaporate. Hang in there! Look out and search deep into the treasures of His word by meditating and fervently proclaiming them. You will soon find that His loving-kindness is better than life, and more exciting than anything this world could offer.
“So, I looked for You in the Sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory. Since Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.” – Psalms 63:3-4
