“Jesus soon saw a huge crowd of people coming to look for him. Turning to Philip, he asked, “Where can we buy bread to feed all these people?” He was testing Philip, for he already knew what he was going to do.” – John 6:5-6
When the One who is the only solution to any problem, asks us questions, we may think, “Oh, so I need to be wise and calculative”.
Jesus always puts forward a question to check if we really know Him; who in the past has split the red seas for us, made the mountains move, has walked on the water, hushed the winds and the waves, raised the dead to life and called us by name! If we do, we may get close to giving him a silly answer like, “I saw a boy with just fives of bread and two fish”. What does that answer got to do anything to feeding more than 5000 people?
God will ask you, “What do you think I can do for you?” And, when you tel Him, “Lord all I have got is this”; He says, “Alright, bring ME all that you have got”.
Jesus blessed the five loaves of bread and two fishes and He asked His disciplines to DISTRIBUTE it to the crowd. The bread and loaves didn’t multiply all of a sudden, it happened as they started giving out what was in the box. Imagine, to every person that they gave one or two bread and the fish, the five loaves and two fishes kept multiplying. Theologians says the people who gathered there was close to 15000. After everyone ate, they happened to pack the remaining left overs and found that they could fill 12 baskets with them.
Whatever we ask God to bless, we have to share or distribute to the people that are in need. There is something in you to feed a huge crowd. It’s something so insignificant and small, but when you take it to Jesus, it will not only multiply but displays abundance in people’s lives. We all stick around people that draw very less from our spiritual gifts. It’s very important to be with people that are hungry for God and what He has given you. For, it’s in the midst of such crowd we find tremendous wonders of His Kingdom happening. No calculations, savings or talents will be of any use, if we hold it tight to ourselves and to the very few that we like being around. When we are moved to be generous for the hunger we see in people, that’s when God shows up. For, generosity and hunger alone multiplied the five loaves of bread and two fishes.
