30-Oct-2017: Death to self
“My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”. – Galatians 2:20
Whatever God calls you to do will never be possible by you. It has to be way bigger than you, your talents, skills, knowledge and understanding for Him to get every ounce of Glory.
It may not be in line of your passion or what you dreamt to happen in your life. Gideon never wanted to lead an army and fight the war. Moses never wanted to go to Pharoah and ask to free the Isralities. Jacob never wanted to leave his habit of deception. Abraham never wanted to tell his wife that God was asking Isaac as a sacrifice. David never wanted to repent for his sexual and murderous act, untill he was exposed. Mary never wanted to give birth to Jesus. Esther never wanted to lose her position.
Even Jesus, never wanted the cup of suffering.
But all these people did the daring, becasue God did it through them when they abandoned themselves to Him. There is nothing like having an audacious Faith in the One who purposes Greatness to flaunt out through you.
Now this doesn’t mean God will not honor your desires, dreams and longings. He will, becasue His plans are always to give you a hope and bright future. A future that you would want to sell out your entire possession to buy the unmatched treasure in the land. But the route to getting there requires abandoning everything you have and had. Learning to love the process before we enter the promised land will save us from “re-sits” through the wilderness.
A wait, a willingness, an act of forgiveness and sheer trust will always be bigger than what you can do or go through by yourself. You need God becasue these ingredients in it’s raw form can be blended well only in His melding machine called “death to self”.

God wants us to die to our selves so that He could do an awesome work in each of us

God calls us to do what we cannot do. In this process, we are keenly aware that it’s all Him bringing it to pass! Otherwise, we would want to take the credit! He has a sense of humor, asking us to give Him our weak places, and there showing His strength. Thanks for sharing.

To live is Christ, to die is gain. I have been crucified with Christ, nevertheless the life I live in the flesh I live by the power of God. Thank you for the encouragement!
