This is a season where many of us are eagerly waiting on God. Key waiting areas in this present moments for Christians are, freedom from great oppression, and a breakthrough in finances.
David was oppressed so much because Saul was full of pride. In his pride he was tormented by evil spirits and it grew worse. “Whenever the tormenting spirit troubled Saul, David would pick up his lyre and play, and Saul would then be relieved, feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.” 1 Samuel 16:23
We are the Davids and our tongue is the instrument that needs to play the music of relief, betterment and deliverance – towards our authorities at work place, and governments; our colleagues, our church members who are struggling and most of it all, our families who are waiting on God.
When praises rise, the initiation to oppression and opposition shuts down.
Similarly, when thanksgiving rises, floodgates of Heaven are opened up to bring you resources and riches.
Theses two aren’t easy to choose when everything within us is anxious; and around us, isn’t going well.
May this promise speak volumes of faith and rest in the depth of our hearts:
“For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land, a land with streams of water, springs, and deep water sources, flowing in both valleys and hills; a land of wheat, barley, vines, figs, and pomegranates; a land of olive oil and honey; a land where you will eat food without shortage, where you will lack nothing; a land whose rocks are iron and from whose hills you will mine copper.” Deuteronomy 8:7-9
