“A friend loves at all times, and is born, as is a brother, for adversity.” Proverbs 17:17
There have been moments where I have always wondered why isn’t there anyone to help. Why have I been so alone? Why have I been so broke? Why do I look so sidelined? Where are all the friends? Where are people to just give moral support? Above all, where are you God?
To be very honest none of those questions were answered immediately with a wand-wave of goodies. But, His Faithfulness! In Time!
Recently, my mom had a surgery to be done. She has been struggling for such a long time and as a daughter I have not just seen her in pain but I have also seen the tantrums that sometimes conveyed a lie to me, “she doesn’t love me”. Her pain makes her so vulnerable and at times dad or I have to be at the receiving end. It’s never been an easy journey. But when I say faithfulness, I am overwhelmed at how God compensates beyond measure.
From early morning 4 am to evening 10 pm, we had a family and two friends who took turns to be with mom, when dad or I couldn’t be around. I also had a friend who willingly took care of my son, when I had a moment for myself to think what to do next. Mom had a smooth surgery. Before the day ended I saw my mom laugh and talk like she had gone through nothing. What a Grace!
We also had a doctor friend who came and affirmed the smoothness of the surgery a day before. He was so generous to take his time to come and visit her, only because God asked Him to. Wow!
I am not glorifying people, but I am so grateful to God how He used them in ways we haven’t thought of. We had many other well wishers who genuinely prayed and checked on us. Also, close friends who affirmed that they are a call away. To all this I have only one thing to say, my questions of long back have been answered beyond measure.
No matter what you go through, God will rise up people to be by your side. Sometimes when you feel alone and when no one’s with you, remember, He’s your Friend and Brother. His faithfulness, especially, is revealed in difficult times. Because He knows what adversity is, He will not leave you alone. He will be there by your side in all His fullness or through people. You just have to let Him do it His way.
When we moved to the town we currently live in, we became a part of an amazing church family. It’s something I never knew was possible before. They have been there for us so many times in so many ways, and I can always see God’s love moving through them. I love that.

God is so good to send us people to walk with us in our time of need. It reminds me of the line in “Reckless Love,”
You have been so so kind to me.

After our last baby when I was in the midst of PPD, a handful of people from church brought us meals, diapers, and prayers to uplift our family! Having a loving Christian support system makes the difficult moments a little easier!

It’s sometimes a leap of faith to see how people will act and how people will move in a situation because we cannot control either one.

Yes! We recently experienced this with a dentist if all people. God sent her to us and she – and her office – are even more than we could have asked for.
