“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” Philippians 3:14
Paul says he had never reached a position where he is totally at his best all the time. He struggled to put on Christ daily. He fell short, doubted, judged, got offended, struggled to love even when he was so sure that without love he is just a nasty noise.
Yet, through the companionship of the Holy Spirit He could write this verse. Yes, I mess up. I am not at my best. I still fight my flesh. I still have to choose to die to the law. But, if I don’t meet the mark; the Holy Spirit helps me press on. Because, God is more than determined to see me win my race and acquire the Heavenly prize.
“I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.” Philippians 3:12
Yes we have heard this a million times. But let’s remind ourselves today, no matter what we face we don’t work or wait for victory; we are victorious because we are possessed by Jesus- The Word of God – Love.
Yes, we may have little or a lot of things to change; externally and internally. Yield, if you fail; don’t stop. Keep yielding to see your Heavenly nature unfold; and His blessings unveil your purposes.
