Treasure

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” Matthew 13:44

“Even the wealthiest man in this world is utterly poor if He doesn’t have Jesus” – John Ashley

It’s so difficult to even comprehend that how can we ever be so rich just because Jesus is all we have?
The answer lies in here: “And there shall be stability in your times, an abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the reverent fear and worship of the Lord is your treasure and His.” Isaiah‬ ‭33:6‬ ‭

Stability, wisdom, salvation and abundance lies only with Our Maker and if we don’t have Him as our first and foremost, we have no Treasure at all. Anything that fades away can never be called a treasure. But, something that is preserved, given out, and stays for eternity is a treasure.

If you look at a Kingdom, the kings and their ancestors have preserved and have passed down the possessions from generation after generation. Those treasures are the significance of that very Kingdom; everything else is insignificant.

The Treasure of the Kingdom that we must and long to belong to, is Jesus Christ. If we aren’t receiving Him, lavishing Him to others and choosing eternity with Him; then we are paupers. No matter how famous we are, whether we have millions, or are competent in our vocations.

Jesus is the treasure that our hearts long for, our veins ache for, our spirit seeks for and our lungs breathe for. Anything else in His place is not worth securing. They are totally out of proportion in comparison to Him, His commandments and His purposes.

  1. I think this is such an important point. Materialism drives our culture, but having more stuff won’t fulfill us. Having Jesus makes us fulfilled and gives us more riches than anything we can find here on Earth!

  2. When we truly understand the treasure we have in Jesus, the pleasures of this world pale in comparison. He is worth our everything.
