Put on Love
“But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection.” Colossians 3:14
The previous verse to this emphasizes on forgiveness. And soon after that, it says, PUT ON love! Which means it’s not just enough to forgive. But also, to express love by loving the one you have chosen to forgive.
Soon enough when you extend the love God pours out on you, boy! You fail not, to experience the perfect peace of God (vs 15). Yes, everything else just falls in place.
Putting on love is the BOND of perfection. Which means when nothing else seems perfect or isn’t going well, because you have “Put on” Love (Jesus Christ), things will turn for your favor. You always measure up, and will never have to perform with strive to make things work out in perfection.
Forgiveness is easy when the person has repented. It’s much harder when the person doesn’t care and insists they did nothing wrong. To love and shine Jesus to that person is something only God can help us do in that situation.

Forgiveness often has to come out of love because we have to rely on God’s unconditional love to heal our wounds and then extend His love to others.
