“I will run after you with delight in my heart, for you will make me obedient to your instructions.” Psalms 119:32
“I will run the way of Your commandments [with purpose], For You will give me a heart that is willing.” PSALM 119:32
Sometimes we need to reflect within and check, why do we believe in God? Is it for the things He can give? What are our motives – pleasing ourselves or Him? Do we entertain sin? Do we understand that the greatest evil lies in our tiny sin than the misery? Are we willing to obey Him? Do we have genuine repentance? Do we gently restore others who have slipped?
It’s in a heart filled with the purposes of God, obedience becomes the preeminence. How do we get filled with His desires for us? His Word! Studying and learning the Word consistently, without excuses of no time, “I’m tired”, don’t feel like it, not today, maybe when old age shows up… helps us be RICHLY .
“Yes Lord, I run after your Word with an immense delight. I say no to the many pleasures and distractions of this world to see more of you. For when I am aware of you more, my heart never resists to obey your good precepts for my life.”
When we obey God for who He is, and not for what He can do or give us, there is a joy that sets in which no misery or struggle can quench.
