Husbands and Christ

And to the husbands, you are to demonstrate love for your wives with the same tender devotion that Christ demonstrated to us, his bride. For he died for us, sacrificing himself to make us holy and pure, cleansing us through the showering of the pure water of the Word of God. All that he does in us is designed to make us a mature church for his pleasure, until we become a source of praise to him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw-  (Ephesians 5: 25-27, TPT)

Yesterday we looked into the truth how a wife portraying honor, respect and love for her husband impacts a church. Her children observes and learns to respect, love, forgive and be patient from how she treats and values their father. The way a wife, mother and woman impacts the atmosphere around them is extremely powerful.

But, for that to have ripple effect in many people’s lives and leave a legacy behind; husbands must rise up to be the reflection of Jesus. The love that a husband shows his wife goes into dying for her. Jesus died for his church. Husbands, must have the grace to die to their self-will, pride, ‘my final word’ attitude, beliefs, and moreover their cultural training. Every family is unique to God and a man needs to totally surrender to Christ to know how He can call forth what God has deposited in his wife and children, in turn causing them to bear fruits that bring God all the glory.

Society exemplifies men that are self-dependent, don’t have tears running down their cheeks and who are not homely. They applaud men who go for tours, 24/7 workers, who do a lot of public talk, and are famous. But very few tend to take the role of a Father and a God designed form of a husband. When men truly step into those roles, it elevates the women and the church simultaneously to have the kingdom-mindset.

All that a man joins with Christ in doing are designed to make the woman and the church mature to bring God pleasure. It helps them to become a source of praise to Him—glorious and radiant, beautiful and holy, without fault or flaw.

No matter how tolerant and loving a woman is, her life “constantly” radiates God’s joy only when her husband/ father (if the woman isn’t married) loves them with the Love of Jesus. Hosea is someone close to personifying Christ by giving up all his rights as a husband and pursued His wife. He loved her into being a woman who pleased God’s heart. Oh men, it’s good to encourage and demand your wives to be modals, good-lookers, pursue their dreams. But fail not to brighten them to be women who carry the tenderness of God and spreads it generously to you, your children, to your church and inevitably to this fallen world. Your significance is so much greater when you take care of your house by adding value to the ones God placed into your hands. You are a blessing to many by first being a blessing to the woman God placed in your life, for she is His unique treasure.

Quit forcing your wife to being what you think they should be, but be persistent in prayer and washing her with the Word to becoming a daughter who delights God’s heart forever.

Ending this with a famous quote by someone I would love to applaud for, “When you take care of the King’s daughter, you always have the King’s favour”.
