Laying it up

“but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:20

One of the way He provides, is by protecting what He has already given us.

When we are diligently seeking Him, serving Him and His people; His anointing starts to penetrate into the very things or people of our life.

In the early phase of the Jewish culture, the men were asked to go up to the mountain to worship the Lord. Every year they had to do this and their return wasn’t very soon. Secondly, the place that they and their families stayed were very unsafe and anytime there could be an attack of the enemy. Despite of knowing this there was no compromise on going up the mountain. Until the men returned and were back, God would keep a mighty watch on their families. Though harm was seen around them, they were covered by Him.

Precious ones this is what Jesus means when He said “lay you for yourselves treasures in Heaven”. You darlingly go after Him; He mightily guards everything that’s needed for your walk with Him. Be it your family, possessions, desires or dreams.

Even before we could give our all to Him; Heaven gave its all to us. So laying up treasure is withdrawing the life Jesus died for us to live, with complete trust in Him.
