“I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.”” Psalms 40:8
When David writes this, he is in no mood of delight, but waiting for God to act on his behalf. This psalm shows how anxious David is. Yet, he recites a prayer from the depth of his heart which contain these lines.
There are times where we declare His wonders yet we plead to Him for mercy. There are moments where we know He is faithful, yet we deal with guilt and shame.
Above all, may we be given a heart to say, “Nothing matters, not my iniquities, not my doubts, not my assumptions, not my rejection, not my expectations…but, Your will be my all and my delight.” God’s law is Love! And let that capture our hearts to satisfy us, with nothing anyone or anything in this world offers. For Love alone molds us to His Will.
